Matured for eight years in traditional oak casks before being finished in premium Sauternes white wine casks, this distinctive Arran Whisky develops layers of ripe apricot, honeyed melon, honeysuckle and soft vanilla, creating a wonderfully smooth and rewarding dram. The influence of the sweet white wine casks enhances the natural fruit notes of the whisky while adding richness and complexity without overpowering its signature Arran character.
Selected by our Distillery Manager, Stewart Bowman, from a small French artisan producer, the Sauternes casks are chosen specifically to achieve the perfect balance between wine and whisky, resulting in a sophisticated and approachable island whisky.
Ideal as an after-dinner dram, the Arran Sauternes Wine Cask Finish pairs beautifully with creamy desserts, toffee pudding and rich fudge, making it a favourite among those who enjoy sweeter whisky styles.
