Selected by Lochranza Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman, this exceptional 12 Year-Old single cask (cask number 19-VA-1431) has been matured in a first fill ex-Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead, imparting a rich depth of character and complexity.
The nose is rich and inviting, with notes of creamy toffee, orange peel and dried fruits, complemented by warming hints of cloves and sweet spice. On the palate, a luxurious oily mouthfeel carries flavours of dark chocolate, black cherries and stewed fruits, balanced by subtle oak and citrus notes. The finish is long and satisfying, with cinnamon-spiced orchard apples, lingering sweetness and a gentle warmth that showcases the influence of this outstanding sherry cask.
