New Distillery Manager joins Lochranza

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new Lochranza Distillery Manager, David Livingstone!

David Livngstone & James MacTaggart

We are very pleased to announce we have appointed a new Distillery Manager for our Lochranza Distillery and that just this week David Livingstone (pictured right) has joined us in his new role looking after the day to day running of our Distillery in Lochranza.   We are all delighted to welcome David to the team and can not wait to work alongside him.  For those of you who have met James MacTaggart over the years either in Lochranza or in your own corner of the world, there is not need to fear....James (pictured left) is not leaving us but rather moving into a new role as Director of Production and Operations for both of our distilleries at Lochranza and Lagg.  He will continue to share in our whisky journey on the beautiful Isle of Arran and will a wonderful support to both David in Lochranza and our Lagg Distillery Manager Graham Omand who many of you have also met.

David joins us from another great whisky island, Islay, where he has spent the last nearly 20 years working in some wonderful distilleries on his native island. He has worked at both Laphroaig and Ardnahoe distilleries and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring to Lochranza in this exciting new adventure.

David told us this week,  “It’s an especially exciting time to take on this role at such a remarkable whisky company and I’m very proud to be given the opportunity to look after the future of these great spirits. Our range of Arran Single Malts are loved across the world, and my main priority is to ensure that the quality is preserved going forward.

Being from the islands myself, I recognise how important distilleries are to island communities and that’s something I’ve always been passionate about. The Isle of Arran Distillers is proud to continue to operate as an independently owned distillery that has the local people at its core.”

Introducing David this week, James has commented:

“As the company continues to grow and develop, it’s necessary that we have the best whisky people around us. We’re delighted to have David on board for the next part of our journey and know that we can learn plenty from his wealth of knowledge and experience.  I’m thoroughly looking forward to my new role as Director of Production & Operations and the opportunity to ensure the excellence of our Arran Single Malts is maintained, while introducing people to our new distillery at Lagg and eventually the whisky we’ll produce there.”

We hope that you will all join us in extending a warm welcome to David!
