Lagg Single Malt Inaugural Releases 2022 - Batches 1, 2 & 3. 

Lagg Distillery is located at the southern end of the Isle of Arran and produces a range of heavily peated, modern and characterful Single Malt Whiskies.  Production started in 2019, with the first recorded cut of spirit made on the
19th March of that year.  We now have the release of three inaugural, limited release bottlings from the distillery.

This new, Limited Release Lagg Whisky has been artfully crafted using Concerto malted barley, peated to 50ppm in the kiln and water from our own bore hole to produce a very characterful dram with notes of citrus, heather and bonfire smoke.

These lovely whiskies have been bottled un-chill filtered, without the additional of any colouring and at a higher strength of 50% ABV.

Lagg Single Malt Batch 1

Twice distilled, in our handmade copper pot stills, the spirit for this release was matured in first fill, ex-bourbon casks for just over three years prior to release.

A very characterful dram, with notes of citrus, heather and bonfire smoke.

Lagg Single Malt Batch 2

Twice distilled as Batch 1, the spirit for this release was matured in first fill, ex-bourbon casks for 30 months and then finished for 6 months prior to release in 55L ex-Oloroso sherry Firkin casks, made especially for us.

A very well-balanced Single Malt, with notes of sultanas, warm spices and smoke.

Lagg Single Malt Batch 3

Twice distilled as Batch 1 and 2, the spirit for this release was matured in first fill, ex-bourbon casks for 30 months and then finished for 6 months prior to release in 55L ex-Rioja red wine Firkin casks made especially for us.

A rich, complex dram, full of notes of dark fruit and toasted oak.
