The 10th Arran Malt and Music Festival 2019

Every year, the annual Arran Malt & Music Festival is held in the grounds of the Isle of Arran Distillery in Lochranza.  This year it will take place from Friday 28th – Sunday 30th June.  The weekend has become an important date in the calendar for whisky and Arran enthusiasts, bringing together some of the best island food producers, local musicians and bands from the mainland in a celebration of all things Malt and Music!

We are looking forward to starting the weekend's festivities by welcoming over one hundred guests to the annual White Stag Dinner held in a marquee on the grounds of the Distillery.

On Saturday 29th June, the Festival starts at 11am and features whisky masterclasses where you have the opportunity to get really involved, chat to the people who make the whisky and hear about their experiences in the industry.  This year there will also be the opportunity to take part in a whisky and chocolate tasting, matching some delicious James of Arran chocolates along with some specially selected Single Malts from the Distillery.  There will also be the chance to taste rarely available limited expressions of The Arran Single Malt Whisky by the dram from the fully stocked bar.

The annual Festival Single Cask Release will be available to purchase on the day – a small batch bottling which is chosen each year by the participants of the Ultimate Masterclass.  The Saturday festivities are set to continue long into the evening with a celebratory ceilidh led by the Scottish folk band Heron Valley and the official Arran Distillery band ‘James and the Staves’.

Entry to the festival on Saturday 11am – 5pm is FREE.  There are still some tickets available for some of the whisky masterclasses and the ceilidh which can be purchased from www.arranevents.com.

An exciting new addition to the weekend’s celebrations is the Long Lagg Lunch which will be held at the newly opened Lagg Distillery on Sunday 30th June.  Tickets for this hotly anticipated event sold out in minutes.  Hosted by Lagg Distillery Manager Graham Omand and Lagg Visitor Experience Manager Faye Waterlow guests will enjoy a tour of the Distillery followed by a 3-course lunch with matching whiskies and cocktails.

For those not attending the Long Lagg Lunch, who wish to visit Lagg Distillery on Sunday, please note that due to the event The Sheiling Bar & Bistro will be closed throughout the day. However, Kilmory Café, located on the ground floor, will still be open and providing an excellent range of freshly made salads, homemade soup, artisan sandwiches and panini's as well as some delicious home baking and refreshments.

With guests coming from near and far, the 2019 Arran Malt and Music Festival is set to be another memorable event on Arran’s social calendar!
