Tasting Notes: Cask Finish Programme 2007

The Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd Cask Finish Programme has been running since February 2003. We now aim to release a new limited edition bottling every 3 months. Keep an eye on this website for further details.

Amarone Finish: Colour Arran Sunset Nose Rich syrup, dark chocolate and cherry liqueur Taste Complex and spicy with hints of dark fruits. The tannins of the oak add tremendous depth to the sweet-fruit character of the Arran Single Malt to make a stunning combination. Finish Long, elegant and warming.	Chianti Finish: (Not UK) Colour Crimson Red Nose Wild berries and Italian herbs Taste Spicy at first and then the tannins of the oak shine through. These are beautifully balanced by the rich fruit notes of damson and cherry Finish Rich, spicy and complex.
Fontalloro Finish: (Not UK) Colour Ruby Red Nose Earthy and spicy with hint of cigar box Taste Rich and oily. A blast of sweet fruit and confectionary gives way to smooth tannins which give structure and body. Finish Lingering complexity, each sip reveals new depths.	Tokaji Finish: Colour Deep Gold Nose Honey, Seville Oranges and Apricot Preserve Taste Rich and lush with just enough of the classic Arran citrus character to cut through the syrup-sweetness Finish Long and lingering, digestif. Pure nectar!
Fino Sherry Finish: Colour Golden Syrup Nose Fresh and pungent with almond, vanilla and spice-box notes emerging. Taste The initial rush of sweetness gives way to a crisp and deliciously dry character. Briny in style with a hint of west coast sea-salt. Finish Complex, nutty aftertaste with good balance.
