The Arran Malt in this limited edition bottling has been matured for 8 years before being transferred to the Pinot Noir Casks to complete the "finishing" process which lasted 9 months.

For this release The Arran Malt has been finished for a period of 12 months in casks previously used to mature St Emilion Grand Cru Classé wine from Château Fonplégade.

The Arran Malt in this limited edition bottling was finished for a period of 6 months in casks previously used to mature wine from the famous Château La Conseillante in the Pomerol region of Bordeaux. La Conseillante dates back to 1735 and their wine is a blend of 80% Merlot & 20% Cabernet Franc. It is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. The Arran Single Malt in this bottling was matured for 8 years in traditional oak casks before being finished in the Pomerol Casks. The end result is a clean and crisp malt with prevailing sweetness and hints of sweet and sour plum sauce and ginger biscuits.

The casks used to create this special finish for The Arran Single Malt previously matured the famous Madeira fortified wine from the island of the same name some 800km south-west of Portugal. The Madeira wine in this instance was matured in these 225 litre oak barriques for a minimum of 5 years. The Arran Single Malt in this bottle was matured for 8 years in traditional oak casks before being transferred to the Madeira casks for a further 10 months. The end result is a sensational single malt with a rich, brooding character. 2008 Limited Edition of 5,760 bottles - Less than 900 available in the UK !!!

Vinho Moscatel is a sweet, fortified wine produced in the Setúbal Peninsula region just south of Lisbon. The wine is aged in 225 litre barriques and these same casks have been used to create this special ?finish? for The Arran Single Malt. Following a maturation of 8 years in traditional oak casks The Arran Single Malt in this bottle was matured for a further 10 months in these Moscatel casks to add a new dimension to our whisky. The end result is a beautifully balanced single malt with a vibrant fruity character.

Each year, our Distillery Manager carefully selects casks which are maturing exceptionally well. These will then be stored either in sherry, bourbon, or other specialist casks until ready for bottling at natural cask strength - without chill filtering - to capture the intensity and individual character of the spirit within. In our new, stylish packaging, this product has spent all of its careful maturation in an ex-Sherry Cask.

Each year, our Distillery Manager carefully selects casks which are maturing exceptionally well. These will then be stored either in sherry, bourbon, or other specialist casks until ready for bottling at natural cask strength - without chill filtering - to capture the intensity and individual character of the spirit within. In our new, stylish packaging, this product has spent all of its careful maturation in an ex-Bourbon Cask.
